Ryan Eckes Found Poem
I went to a slam writing show and it was opened by a poet named Ryan Eckes. He presented this awesome found poem that is now also up on his poetry blog. I want lots of people to see this.
He opened up a copy of The Bhagavad Gita and found a notecard with some instructions to a CVS employee on it. He read the text of the book and the instructions side by side, as he had found them, and realized he had a pretty great found poem.
I agree.
Check it out:
the bhagavad-cvs chris, to protect men of virtue and destroy men who do evil, to set the standard of sacred duty,
crush boxes in back room. this is the ancient discipline i have taught you today.
bring down more bounty and stack in aisle 15. you are my devotee and my friend, and this is the deepest mystery.
take down risers and posts in aisle 16. your birth followed the birth of the sun.
move all extra care price cut signs to front half of store. many forms of sacrifice expand toward the infinite spirit.
chris, let me know if you can come in sunday. actions do not bind a man in possession of himself.
