Video game idea: Steal it and send me a copy
I just had an idea for a fun Internet video game. The idea is that it’s a game for two players. It’s a chasing game. The idea would be for one character to be a big, tough, Doom sort of character. The other character would be a smaller, quicker, less strong character, but, that character would have more strategic abilities. Like, he could climb walls, pick locks, set traps of various kinds and hide.
The story would be basically one of that big character looking through the city for the smaller character and trying to catch or kill him.
One thing that could make it really interesting would be if there were lots and lots of Non-Player Characters in this city, and if any of them saw the little character, they would be able to give the big one clues. Only, the big one would have to figure out what strategy to use to talk to different characters, who may or may not know anything. Like, he would have to consider using Charm, Bribes or Intimidation. The latter two could have consequences in some cases, but are also probably more likely to work. So he’d have to try to read little signals that would tell him which way to go. Game designers would have a fun time figuring out the sort of hints to make to tell the big guy what sort of things he could do.
And, of course, the little character could potentially bribe or charm non-player characters into giving false or misleading info.
The little character would probably be after something or a variety of things in the City, stuff he had to get before the big guy caught him. Maybe they are both after the stuff, but the big guy doesn’t have the access to info that the little guy does.
Anyway, I think people would have a lot of fun with this sort of game. Steal it. Make it happen. Send me a link.
